?When you see the promise, you will be willing to pay the price.?
Most times when I walk on the streets I notice different sets of people. There
are always the successful ones and those on the other side of the divide. I
used to ask myself why this is so until I read a book by Jim Rohn, ?Leading an
inspired life.? I then understood why some people will be successful in life
and some won?t be.
This life is built on paying a price to get to one?s destination. We all have a
price to pay, what determines where we end at the end of the day. When we start
out early in life, we always see a bright and promising future ahead of us; the
world looks conquerable to us that we dream of so many lovely things we are
going to do with our lives. We see ourselves in lovely rides, beautiful
mansions and wining and dining with the mighty in our communities. We see
people such as Bill Gates, Warren Buffets and their likes as our models and
boy, we can?t wait to get to their levels!
On setting out, the reality sets in! It is not as easy as we think it will be!
We have heard several times that uneasy lies the head that wears the crown but
unfortunately, FEW are willing to undergo the ?uneasy? part of being
successful. Those who have been successful, always place the picture of where
they want to go directly in front of them. They sleep and wake with the picture
always before them and where ever they go, they never leave the picture behind.
That is the promise they are pursuing. When they have the mental picture of
what they want to achieve, all that remains is to look at the price they will
have to pay, in order to get to where they are going. They are never afraid of
the price they have to pay because of the mental picture that they are always
carrying with them.
Successful people pay a lot of prices before they achieve their success. They
suffer a lot of ridicule from people around them, rejection is always their lot
on a regular basis. What of hunger? They always have to go a lot of days
without food just because they want to achieve the promise. Days are spent
without having a dime in their pocket but they are still undaunted.
They owe debt to high heavens and they see that as a price they needed to pay.
In all these situations, they are always in a cheerful mood and unless they
tell you what they are passing through, you will not be able to know. That is
the big difference between a person who succeeds and a failure in life: An
ability to see the promise and pay the price.
People who don?t make it at the end of the day, see the promise or the luxuries
of a successful life, but are not willing to pay the price. By so doing, they
don?t become successful. Willingness to pay the price, no matter how heavy it
is, is a perquisite to being successful at the end of the day. ?No pain, No
gain? is a popular word which we all need to imbibe, seriously, into our lives.
If you are going to be successful later in life, you must be willing to pass
through lot of hassles. If you are not willing to, then I am not sure you are
willing to become a successful person. See every negative event arising while
trying to achieve your dreams, as one of the price you have to pay on your way
to living a successful life.
